happy new year

As we head into 2008 we anticipate that it is going to be an amazing year full of change, travel, and exciting work. To start our year off with a bang, our church is making a bunch of changes this year that will really affect our ministry as a whole. We are making changes in hopes that Portland and its people will be deeply impacted by the love of Christ. On the travel side of things we just started up the missions training school here at the church called Great Commission Training School. The school focuses on local and overseas church-planting, character development, biblical training, and ministry training. One aspect of the school’s curriculum is that we travel overseas for an outreach. This summer we will have the opportunity to travel to both Amsterdam and Southern Spain for outreaches. Also, as a family, we will be traveling to Germany for our bi-annual missions conference. This is such an exciting time for us as we get to hear what God is doing through our dear friends scattered all over the world. Lastly, the work part seems to always be going on. Ashley is busy with her card business, Paper Frosting Designs, along with co-leading the training school. Paper Frosting Designs has created a Valentines Day Tin full of 11 super-cute card designs that we just know the sweethearts in your life will love to receive! Check out the desings at http://www.paperfrosting.net/ . Jason is busy with leading the training school as well as fulfilling his many other roles in our church. The following are a few prayer points that we are praying over the next month. Please join us as we petition God to see the lives around us changed by the power of prayer! Thank you for all of your prayers on our behalf. We know the difference in makes.

1. Pray for our church as we make some pretty significant transitions. Pray that the decisions made and changes that are implemented are effective in seeing salvation in our midst.
2. Pray that we would have compassion for the people of our neighborhood and that we would be able to develop a friendship with our neighbors.
3. Pray that the GCTS (Great Commission Training School) students would grow in their personal intimacy with Jesus and that their lives would bear much fruit in our city!

Thanks for loving us so well. Have an amazing year, and please keep us up-to-date on how we can be praying for you and your family.

We love you,

Jason, Ashley, True & Selah
